![]() When you encounter one, just go back so that you can barely see him waving: he should respawn just like the enemies do (that's why I wouldn't call it cheating ).Data East's RoboCop is a decent PC port of a fun coin-op game, not to be confused with OCEAN's horrible CGA port released earlier. There's also a glitch that gives you more of those guys in a red jacket that you must save for extra energy and lives. If you try the levels frequently enough to memorize their structure, you'll eventually pull it off. I guess trade-offs are inevitable when insisting on using one fire button. I found the difficulty bearable (and by no means am I a pro), aside from a few leap-of-faith jumps and some rather awkward controls for jumping + multi-directional shooting. Digitised stills from the movie are also done much better. ![]() Anyway, it surely renders the violence of the RoboCop movies much better than its predecessor. The distinctive Special FX/Karen Davies 'dark' tone is there, which is okay, but RoboCop needed a more "metallic" feel, if you know what I mean (and you do if you've played any Bitmap Brothers games). ![]() Graphics are still a little bland, maybe slightly better than the job they did with Midnight Resistance. The worse the RoboCop movies, the better their tie-ins.
